Banana Clips Barber Shop and Salon is a different kind of salon in that we want every customer to have a unique and satisfying experience beginning from the moment they walk through our door.  As you enter, the atmosphere wraps around you like a soft, well-worn, comfortable pair of denim jeans. The unique décor with its pictures, colors, and wooden furnishings all blend to create a relaxing atmosphere for our customers. The “life” of the shop is palpable and positive with its warm earthlike tones. The partitions separating each stylist’s station are created from salvaged stained glass doors from Hurricane Katrina crafted by my brother, Seth Richard and his friend, Steve Garret. We are an eco-friendly salon and you will find refurnished and recycled items used throughout and hand-picked to be displayed in a classy unique way; each one telling its own story.  

 

I was raised in Fort Walton and love living in the beautiful part of the country. My journey began with volunteering at Emerald Coast Hospice where I would travel to the patient’s homes and give them haircuts. The patient’s really looked forward to this time and it was not only refreshing for them but rejuvenating for their attitude. Because many patients were bed bound and did not get out much, this was a time they could feel better about themselves and their situation. I also have volunteered for the Emerald Coast Rescue Mission formally known as the Water Front Rescue Mission. Each month I visit with the gentlemen who are seeking to improve their life and live a better quality of life by working through the Men's Recovery Program. Raymona Bledsoe is a Licensed Cosmetologist for Banana Clips and also has volunteered her time for nonprofit organization, such as Stage Crafters sculpting makeup and arranging hair for a play held at St. Mary's Auditorium.  We at Banana Clips believe in giving back to others who are less fortunate and do so in a variety of ways. We are all about helping one another grow and expand by sharing our knowledge and family values to help others.
